CEDRIC LIQUEUR

A former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford-upon-Avon and a community activist from Summerton, S.C.  Since 1997 Liquer has presented historical biographies as one-man solo performances throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.  Mr. Liqueur will perform a provocative and unique one-man show for the CBA and also speak on his work as a community organizer, activist, and supporter of the creative arts.

ADAM SCHRIMMER

A mural artist from Greenville, SC who owns and operates the Blank Canvas Mural Company.  Mr. Schrimmer also directs other community centric off-shoots of Blank Canvas such as, C.O.M.P. (Community Opportunity Mural Program), a mural creating program + partnership offered for free to residents of the Greenville Housing Authority properties.  @blankcanvasmurals

DAVE LOEWENSTEIN

A muralist, printmaker and arts organizer based in Lawrence, Kansas.  In addition to his more than twenty public works in Kansas, examples of his dynamic and richly colored community-based murals can be found across the United States, and in Northern Ireland, South Korea and Brazil.  Loewenstein’s prints, which focus on social justice issues, are exhibited internationally and are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Yale University, and the Center for Study of Political Graphics in Los Angeles..  He is the co-author of Kansas Murals: A Traveler’s Guide, a 2007 Kansas Notable Book Award Winner, published by the University Press of Kansas, and is the subject of “Called to Walls” a feature length documentary that premiered in 2016.

NICHOLAS WARD + AMBER HANSEN

Nicholas Ward is a filmmaker, visual artist and poet residing in Lawrence KS.  Ward has created numerous short films and community-based murals that highlight the people and places that make their respective communities unique.

Amber Hansen is a filmmaker, muralist, visual artist and musician creating socially engaged and community-based artwork throughout the Midwest.  Establishing a dialogue between her formal education and the ethics of her rural upbringing, Hansen’s work promotes the value of creative engagement for all ages while raising questions about the ethics of animal welfare and humans relationship with food.
