The CBA hosts a gathering and participatory conference every 2 years.
CBA conferences have been held across the United States over the past 30+ years. Host communities included Charleston SC, Omaha NE, Half Moon Bay CA, Manitou Springs CO, Davis CA, New Orleans LA, Portland OR and many more. Each conference is a unique chance to gather artists and planners to grow our understanding of community built practices as well as build relationships that expand our capabilities. It is a reunion of friends, a creative community and a powerful network of mentors and emerging practitioners, there is a place for everyone.
For the past four conferences we have also included a multi-day Bootcamp/Leadership Conference for new and emerging professionals to learn hands-on-skills from our expert members. This program has allowed us to make a positive physical impact in the host community. We have built park benches, painted murals, built metal garden archways, and provided strategic planning assistance.
The CBA is an all volunteer effort. There is no paid staff and 100% of funds raised will be committed to local resources, projects, food, printing, lodging and conference expenses.
